Cats Face Host Northern Colorado in Big Sky Tourney

Montana State makes its eighth consecutive Big Sky Conference Tournament appearance on Monday when it faces No. 3 Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. in Bank of Colorado Arena.

The Bears are tournament hosts based on winning the 2024 regular season Big Sky title. MSU enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed. Other first round matches include No. 4 Weber State vs. No. 5 Montana, 10 a.m., No. 1 Northern Arizona vs. No. 8 Idaho State, 1 p.m., and No. 2 Sacramento State vs. No. 7 Portland State, 4 p.m. Semifinal matches will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m., and 7 p.m., respectively, with the Big Sky Championship match slated for 7 p.m. on Wednesday. All matches at the Big Sky Tournament will be streamed on ESPN+ (a subscription in necessary).
TWTWTW: Montana State wrapped up its regular season Big Sky Conference slate dropping a pair of matches to Weber State (3-0) and Idaho (3-2) over the weekend. Senior Camryn Greenwald led the Bobcats offensively, averaging 2.50 kills per set, while hitting a team-best .294 over the eight sets. Against Idaho State on Thursday night, she registered a career-high 18 kills behind a .350 attack mark. Lauren Lindseth paced MSU defensively, averaging 5.00 digs per set.
THE MIDDLE: Montana State's middle blocking tandem of Camryn Greenwald and Joelie Spelts continue to play phenomenally in Big Sky Conference action. The tandem combined for 36 kills, a .237 attack mark and 11 blocks, last week. Greenwald, a 6-2 senior from Woodbury, Minn., is averaging 2.31 kills per set, while hitting an impressive .357 from the field. Greenwald has been in double digit kills in seven league matches, including a career-high 18 kills at Idaho State on Thursday night. In addition, she had recorded 11 Big Sky matches hitting .300 or better. Spelts, a 6-3 junior from Gillette, Wyo., has been equally as productive, averaging 2.37 kills per set, while hitting .309 in conference play. Spelts has also tallied seven Big Sky matches in double figure kills, including a season-high 14 kills against Eastern Washington on Sept. 24. She has recorded seven matches, hitting .300 or better. The duo has combined for 118 blocks in Big Sky play.
MOVIN' ON UP: Lauren Lindseth moved into second on MSU's all-time career digs chart against Northern Arizona on Oct. 2 in Shroyer Gym. Last weekend against Idaho State and Weber State, she totaled 40 digs. Lindseth is just the second Bobcat to surpass the 1,900-dig milestone. Her career total stands at 1,965 digs. The native of Great Falls also ranks ninth on MSU's all-time service ace chart with 124 aces.

The Great Falls, Mont. native led the league averaging 4.69 digs per set in overall matches, and 4.76 digs per set in Big Sky contests. In addition, Lindseth moved into fifth on the Big Sky all-time digs chart with 1,965 career saves. Only Kristin Lutes, Sacramento State (2,355), Haylie Keck, Idaho State (2,206), Ellie Snook, Portland State (2,138), and Allyssa Rizzo, Montana State (2,122) have recorded more saves in the 38-year history of volleyball in the Big Sky Conference. Despite being overlooked for the second consecutive season by the league coaches as the top libero, Lindseth notched 488 total digs this fall, which ranks 30th in the nation. This season, she recorded 23 matches in double digit digs, including 12 matches with 20 or more saves. Lindseth notched a career-high 35 digs on Oct. 2, 2025, as the Bobcats knocked off Big Sky regular season champion Northern Arizona in Shroyer Gym. Lindseth was a four-time Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week this season, giving her nine honors during her career as a Bobcat.

Greenwald has registered nine matches this season, hitting .400 or better this season.
- Junior Joelie Spelts has been MSU's top blocker this season. The Gillette, Wyo., product averages 1.00 blocks per set, which includes a season-best seven blocks as the Bobcats dispatched Idaho State on Oct. 25. Her current 1.00 bps ranks eighth in the Big Sky.
- Montana State freshman Teagan Jaynes' return to the Bobcat starting rotation after missing several matches due to injuries in mid-September made an immediate impact. Jaynes, a setter from Northfield, Minn., averaged 10.22 assists per set, which was tops in Big Sky Conference action this fall. She was also seventh in the league averaging .33 aces per contest. Jaynes finished the Big Sky slate averaging .65 kills per set, while leading the team in aces with 21 and averaging 1.67 digs per outing.
- Sophomore outside hitter Karli Heidemann leads the Bobcats averaging 3.06 kills per set, which is tenth best in the Big Sky Conference this season. The native of Diller, Neb., has been in double digit kills on 17 occasions this fall, which includes matching her career-high of 21 kills against Northern Arizona on Oct. 2. Defensively, she is second on the team averaging 2.24 digs per set. Heidemann has recorded eight matches in double figure digs, including a career-high 18 digs at Portland State. In addition, she has tallied 24 service aces.
- Sophomore outside hitter Teya Yeomans made her first start as a Bobcats against Idaho on Nov. 15 and posted a career-best 10 kills. She averaged 2.83 kps in six sets against EWU and Idaho, two weeks ago.
