MSU’s four seniors- Siebler, Greenwald, Gretta Lawson, and Lauren Lindseth – combined for 22 kills, a .321 attack mark, while adding 19 digs and eight blocks in their final appearance in Shroyer Gym.
Camryn Greenwald and Teya Yeomans each recorded 10 kills as Montana State played one of its most complete matches of the season in a 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 victory over Idaho, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Shroyer Gym.
"It felt very businesslike today," said MSU third-year head coach Matt Houk. "And I think that is a good sign going down the stretch of the season. There were lots of people just playing really good volleyball throughout the day.
"I also liked our response when things didn't exactly go the way we planned," he added. "I thought there was very little emotional energy given to a mistake or a poor play, and it was just very much on to the next play. And that hasn't always been our strength this year, so that was nice to see."
Montana State (13-12, 8-6) outhit Idaho (5-21, 2-12) .353 to .206 to open the contest, winning the set on a Greenwald kill. The Bobcats held the Vandals to just a .030 attack mark in the second set as MSU registered four team blocks. Senior Madilyn Siebler took over the final set posting six kills. Joelie Spelts completed the Bobcat sweep with a match-ending tip for a kill.

"Our seniors played a big role today," Houk said. "They are a core group that's been here for my three years here, and they're going to leave a big hole. All of them have grown a ton over these last three years into what they're doing and who they are in this program- not only from the physical standpoint of playing the game of volleyball and getting better at it, but additionally, all of them take their sliver of leadership. They all have different traits and attributes, and I think they lean into those, and it is nice to see them on the court making sure that that we are heading in the right direction."
Siebler and Spelts finished the match with nine and eight kills, respectively. Freshman setter Teagan Jaynes dished out 40 assists and added six digs, two blocks and an ace. Defensively, Lindseth paced MSU with 11 digs, while Karli Heidemann added ten. Greenwald led all players with a match-high five blocks.
MSU closes out the Big Sky regular season next week, beginning on Wednesday night at Idaho State and finishing at Weber State, Friday.
