Donation Request Form
The Montana State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is honored to donate to numerous, non-profit organizations throughout the community each year. Due to high demand and NCAA regulations, Bobcat Athletics is not able to fulfill every request. In an effort to best process your request and support as many charities as possible, donation requests should be made in accordance with the following guidelines:
- Requests should be submitted at least four (4) weeks prior to the date the requested donation is needed.
- Requests for items autographed by a coach or multiple student-athletes will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some autographed items require a standard fee, and thus cannot be donated. Requests for items autographed by individual student-athletes cannot be honored, per the NCAA rules.
- Each organization is eligible to receive one (1) donated item per year, in an effort to fulfill as many charitable requests as possible.
- Organizations should not advertise availability of an item until the item has been received.
- Donated items may be auctioned only by the requesting organization; donated items may not be sold outright.
- All proceeds from the donated items must benefit the charitable/non-profit organization.
- If possible, donation requests should include the organization's 501(c)(3) number and/or documentation that provides information about the organization/event.
- Due to NCAA restrictions, MSU cannot donate items to entities that serve prospect-aged individuals (i.e., 9th-12th graders, or 7th-12th graders for men's basketball). This restriction incldues high schools, high school scholarship funds or booster clubs, club sports teams for high school students, etc. MSU is not permitted to provide a prospect-aged individual or their family with extra benefits/inducements, including but not limited to gifts, monetary benefits, tickets, or cash. All donated items must be used for the charitable purpose for which they were donated; they may not be used to influence a prospective student-athlete's decision to attend Montana State University.
