Bobcats Ready to Host Senior Day Wednesday at Track & Field Complex

Senior Day for the Montana State track and field program takes place Wednesday at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex as the ‘Cats host the Tom Gage Invitational which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Senior Day for the Montana State track and field program takes place Wednesday at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex as the 'Cats host the Tom Gage Invitational which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Athletes from both Montana State and Montana are slated to compete in the meet that serves as the finale to the regular season for both schools.
Field events open at 2 p.m. with the women's javelin throw while track events begin at 4 p.m. A variety of athletes will be making their final appearances either fine tuning for the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships or making their last impression to make the travel team that will participate in the meet. MSU is slated to travel to Ogden, Utah, for the Big Sky Championships which open competition on May 12.
The MSU men's squad features 16 athletes that hold at least one mark that would currently score points at the Big Sky Championships. Duncan Hamilton and Drake Schneider each hold three top-eight marks on the Big Sky performance list, with Hamilton holding the top time in the steeplechase and Schneider sitting atop the 400 hurdles rankings in the Big Sky.
Montana State's women's team has 18 individuals that have at least one mark among the top eight on the Big Sky's performance list. Trisha Carlson, Elena Carter and Alex Hellenberg are currently in positions to score in two events, while Lucy Corbett (high jump) and Carla Nicosia (triple jump) sit atop the conference rankings in their respective events heading into the Tom Gage Invitational.
Both of MSU's men's and women's squads are still ranked among the top three in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Conference Track and Field Ratings Index for the Big Sky.
Fifteen Bobcat student-athletes are set to be recognized as part of a ceremony that will take place at the end of the meet at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday's event will not have a live stream available, but live results can be found at msubobcats.com/trackresults. Spectators for Wednesday's meet will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask at all times during the event. Fans will also be asked to park on the south side of Bobcat Stadium (enter off 11th Ave.) if attending the meet.
