Senior Day Caps Track & Field Home Schedule

Montana State completed its final home track and field meet on Wednesday at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex as the Bobcats took advantage of a near-perfect Senior Day
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State completed its final home track and field meet of the season on Wednesday at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex. The Bobcats took advantage of a near-perfect Senior Day as the men's and women's squads wrapped up their final event ahead of the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships.
The Bobcat women's team had multiple performances that altered the Montana State all-time top 10 chart.
MSU had a 1-2-3 finish in the 1,500-meter run that included Mya Dube (4:35.13), Lexi Kyro (4:35.87) and Trisha Carlson (4:36.87). Their times altitude adjusted were the seventh, eighth and 10th best marks, respectively, in program history in the event.
Macy White had two strong showings with first-place finishes in the 100 and 200. White's 100 dash time of 11.92 seconds, converted to 11.95, moved her into a tie for third among all-time Bobcats. She recorded a time of 24.48 seconds in the 200 which would have been the seventh fastest ever if it weren't wind aided.
Carley VonHeeder and Alex Hellenberg improved their all-time top 10 marks. VonHeeder placed first in the javelin with a lifetime best 159 feet, 6 inch (48.62m) throw. Hellenberg took second in the pole vault by clearing 12-01.50 (3.70m). MSU's 4x100 relay of Elena Carter, Morgan Evans, Evelyn Adams and White clocked a time of 46.63 seconds which is tied for the ninth fastest mark in program history.
Alec Nehring also moved up on the men's top 10 list in the shot put. His personal-best mark of 58-03 (17.75m) put him in a tie for sixth among all-time Bobcats.
The two Bobcats teams combined for 16 first-place finishes.
Earning top spots in their respective events were Jared Schwend (men's 400), Chris Bianchini (men's 800), Isaac Schmidt (men's 1,500), Caleb Neth (men's long jump), Cantor Coverdell (men's javelin), Megan Good (women's 800), Elena Carter (women's 100 hurdles and women's long jump), Jordan Fink (women's shot put) and Carla Nicosia (women's triple jump) Schmidt completed a lifetime best in the men's 1,500 (3:58.05), Good clocked her best mark in the 800 (2:16.81), while Fink completed her top throw of her career in the shot put of 44-09.50 (13.65m).
Casey Gunlikson, Ethan Saberhagen, Madi Arneson, Evelyn Adams and A'lena Chaney each completed two top-three showings on Wednesday. Alex Hershey recorded a personal-best time of 49.73 in the men's 400, Zoe Johnson tied her best clearance of 5-05 in the women's high jump and Brookelyn Palin had a season-best mark of 141-11 in the women's discus.
The Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships are slated next for the Montana State track and field program on May 12 with multi-events opening the meet. A majority of events at the Big Sky Championships begin on May 14 in Ogden, Utah.
