The Montana State volleyball team will compete in its second tournament of the season when it travels to the Loyola University of Chicago Hampton Inn Rambler Challenge, Sept. 6-7 in the Windy City.
HEADING TO THE WINDY CITY:
The Montana State volleyball team will compete in its second tournament of the season when it travels to the Loyola University of Chicago Hampton Inn Rambler Challenge, Sept. 6-7 in the Windy City. The Bobcats will open play against Western Michigan on Friday at 9 a.m. (MT) and will face the host Ramblers later in the day at 6 p.m. Montana State will conclude tournament play against Loyola University Maryland on Saturday at 11 a.m. Matches will be played in one of the most intimate and fan-friendly arenas in the Missouri Valley Conference and the Midwest, the Joseph J. Gentile Arena.
SIDE OUTS:
* The Bobcats return four starters and eleven letterwinners from last season
* Last fall, MSU had its second straight double-digit win season- a first since 2004-05
* MSU's libero Allyssa Rizzo was named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week
* Montana State was paced offensively last weekend by Evi Wilson at 2.69 kps
* Montana State will face Loyola Maryland for the first time in school history
* The Bobcats are 1-1 in its all-time series with Loyola Chicago going back to 1985
* Montana State will face Western Michigan for the first time in school history
* Montana State averaged 1,055 fans per match last fall, which ranked 47th in the nation
