Bobcats Host Southern Utah and Northern Arizona

The Montana State volleyball team will be back in the friendly confines of Shroyer Gym beginning on Thursday night when it hosts Southern Utah at 7 p.m. It will be the only time the two teams meet during the regular-season.

The Montana State volleyball team will be back in the friendly confines of Shroyer Gym beginning on Thursday night when it hosts Southern Utah at 7 p.m. It will be the only time the two teams meet during the regular-season. Southern Utah is 10-7 overall and 1-3 in Big Sky play. MSU will host Northern Arizona on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 12 p.m. The match was moved to an earlier start as Bobcat football kicks-off at 5 p.m. Saturday's match will also serve as Montana State's Breast Cancer Awareness match. Fans can bring their football ticket (vs. Sacramento State) and receive at $2 ticket to the match. NAU is currently 10-7 overall and 3-1 in Big Sky Conference South Division action.
THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS:
Despite having four players with double-digit kills and junior outside hitter Loni Kreun with a match-best 16 kills, the Montana State volleyball team couldn't hang on as North Dakota rallied for a 25-27, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19 win over the Bobcats, Saturday afternoon at the Betty Englestad Sioux Center. Also in double-figure kills for MSU were Natalee Godfrey 15, while Kiana Black and Natalie Passeck added ten, apiece. Defensively, Kasey Altman led all players with a career-high 28 digs. Also in double-digit digs were Kreun 16, Dana Vestman 15, and Passeck 11. Senior setter Katie Harrington dished out 60 assists. Northern Colorado rode a quick start and efficient hitting to a 3-0 win over Montana State in Big Sky volleyball action in Greeley on Thursday. The Bears earned a 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 victory over MSU, out-hitting the Bobcats .250 to .115. The play of sophomore Kiana Black highlighted the match as the middle blocker from Wenatchee, Washington posted eight kills, a .615 attack mark and three digs for the Bobcats.
BOBCAT PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Senior middle blocker Natalee Godfrey is Montana State's Player of the Week. The 6-1 product of Eugene, Oregon averaged 3.14 kills per set and posted a .273 attack mark. In addition, Godfrey averaged 1.43 digs and added four blocks and two service aces. At the University of North Dakota on Saturday afternoon, Godfrey guided the Bobcats with 15 kills - just two shy of her career-high. She also registered a .346 (15-6-26) attack mark and notched two aces, five digs and three blocks. At Northern Colorado on Thursday night, Godfrey tallied seven kills and five digs. On the season, she is averaging 2.44 kills and .78 blocks per set. She is currently second on the team with a .229 hitting percentage.
