The Montana State volleyball team hit a season-high .299 from the field, en route to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-21 non-conference victory over Cal State Bakersfield, Sunday night in Shroyer Gym.
The Montana State volleyball team hit a season-high .299 from the field, en route to a 25-14, 25-14, 25-21 non-conference victory over Cal State Bakersfield, Sunday night in Shroyer Gym.
Montana State (7-7) cruised to the first set win hitting .355 from the floor, while holding CSUB (0-18) to .028. The second stanza feature much of the same as the Bobcats converted at a .346 clip to the Roadrunners' -.033
The final set featured eight ties, however a 7-2 run at 14-all put MSU up 21-16 following a Taylar Barney kill. The Bobcats closed out the match as defensive specialist Nicole Baker converted from the back row.
For the match, MSU was paced by Rachelle Allen with 13 kills, while hitting .346 from the field. In addition, she added seven digs.
Sophomore setter Jennifer Lundquist dished out 28 assists, while adding four kills and four digs. Senior libero Meghan Albiston led the Bobcats with ten digs, and Chelsea Oemcke guided MSU at the net with three blocks.
CSUB was led by Lindy DeGeare with seven kills and five digs.
The two teams will play again on Monday at 7 p.m., in Shroyer Gym.
