Bobcats Get All-Around Contributions in Blue/Gold Scrimmage

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Third-year head coach Daniel Jones was pleased with the all-around effort of his squad during the annual Montana State Blue/Gold volleyball scrimmage, Saturday night in Shroyer Gym.
"It was good to get out and compete in front of a crowd," Jones said. "We saw some nerves and it had an impact early, but everyone settled down and contributed to the match."
Heading into the season, the strength of the Bobcats is with its defense and passing line. Senior Allyssa Rizzo, along with juniors Lexi Goroski and Libby Christensen anchored the back row during the two-set contest and set the tone for the match.
"I thought Rizzo, Goroski, and Christensen really did a nice job," Jones said. "It's nice to have veteran leadership in that area. We're applying some different things on the defensive end, some technical things, and despite some ups and downs, I feel we are learning at a clip that matches where we need to be at this point of the season."
The Bobcats will host its lone exhibition match against Carroll College on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. in Shroyer Gym. The match is free and open to the public.
