Montana State Men's Tennis Drops Narrow Decision at Northern Colorado

UNC Rallies for 4-3 win
Northern Colorado captured the final two singles matches of the day to rally for a 4-3 Big Sky Conference victory over Montana State in Greeley on Friday.
Northern Colorado's Tommy Smalley beat Mateus Ceolin 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles , and shortly after that Nick Wade beat MSU's Creel Smith 7-6, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Bears. UNC also won the doubles point, sweeping all three matches.
The Bobcats (now 2-9 overall, 1-3 in Big Sky play) won three of the first four singles matches to grab a 3-2 lead heading into the decisive matches. Alex Flink earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 1 and Joaquin Espinoza grabbed a 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2. Adolfo Arroyo of Northern Colorado (6-9 overall, 2-6 Big Sky) beat Drew Brown 7-6, 6-1 at the second ladder spot before Christian Damgaard Qvist earned a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4.
Friday's match was rescheduled after weather forced postponement earlier in the month. MSU hosts Sacramento State on April 6 and Idaho State on April 7 in its next action.
