Montana State (4-12, 2-5) was paced by Bozeman freshman Caitlin Lonergan with a team-high 11 kills, while freshman Allyssa Rizzo chipped in a team-best 12 digs. As a team, MSU finished hitting .071 from the field.
"UND played great and were firing on all cylinders," said MSU head coach JJ Riley. "We, unfortunately, couldn't get going on our side. UND was in system all match and we were constantly trying to run our offense from 12-15 feet off the net.
"The take away for us is that we did a great job of staying together as a team even when we were not executing," Riley added. "To us that is a huge step in the right direction as we continue to build. We need to keep focusing on the things that we can control and be great at them."
North Dakota (14-8, 6-1) was led by Julie Kaczorowska with 13 kills and a .591 attack mark.
Montana State will play at Northern Colorado in Greeley on Saturday night.
