Bobcat Spikers in Great Falls Tourney; Host Montana Tech in Tuesday Scrimmage

“The big focus on Tuesday will be the game time setup and seeing what things are like on our home court,” Riley said. “It will give us a good look for how we want things in the fall. It will be our last opportunity to gather some good information. Overall, we have had good moments this spring. The key will be with our consistency. We need to reinforce our strengths and improve our weaknesses.”
The Montana State volleyball team will wrap up its spring drills in the next five days playing in the University of Great Falls Tournament on Saturday, before concluding action with a scrimmage against Montana Tech at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 14 in Shroyer Gym. The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
Saturday, the Bobcats will face Great Falls at 10 a.m.; followed by MSU Northern, 11 a.m., Carroll College, 2 p.m., and Montana, 3 p.m. Matches will be played at Great Falls Catholic.
"We've been working on a lot of things this spring," MSU First-Year Head Coach JJ Riley said. "Defensively, with the block, and offensively, with our timing between the hitters and setter. This tournament will let us implement things in a game situation and will force us to make the best decisions in reading the play, understanding what we need to do and communicating what we need to do."
Montana State will close out its spring practice hosting Montana Tech in a scrimmage on Tuesday night.

Riley returns 11 players, including five starters, from the 2014 squad that posted a 7-21 overall mark and a 4-12 Big Sky Conference ledger.
