First-year head coach Kyle Weindel has announced that the Montana State volleyball program will start a Little Bobcat Club for kids entering 1st - 8th grade this fall. The outreach program for youth in the Gallatin Valley will teach and enhance volleyball skills.
Each participant will have the opportunity to work with Bobcat players on all skills throughout the season, as well as play and showcase their abilities at intermission of MSU's match against North Dakota on Oct. 20.
Three Saturdays have been set aside for the Little Bobcat Club program, including Aug. 18, Sept. 22 and Sept. 29. The program will begin on Aug. 18 from 1-2:30 p.m., as part of the Bobcat Blue/Gold scrimmage and barbeque.
“The Little Bobcat Club will be a tremendous opportunity for our players to interact with kids from around the valley,” Weindel said. “I think the kids will get a kick out of interacting with our players, as well.
“With the popularity of volleyball, both indoors and on the beach, that has been showcased in the London Summer Olympic Games; we hope that momentum carries over into the Little Bobcat Club.”
The Little Bobcat Club is free to all participants and includes four sessions, two tickets to each match on the day of the lesson and a Little Bobcat Club t-shirt.
