
Bobcat Spikers Fall in Pullman

The Montana State volleyball team took PAC-10 foe Washington State to four sets before falling to the Cougars on Friday night.

Despite Rachelle Allen's double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs, the Montana State volleyball team came up short losing a 25-15, 25-21, 15-25, 25-22 decision to Washington State, Friday night at the Nike Cougar Classic in Bohler Gym.
Washington State (5-3) jumped out quickly taking the opening set by virtue of its .200 attack mark, while Montana State (5-3) hit a paltry -.172. In the second stanza, MSU got its offense running hitting .323, but WSU answered with a .393 clip from the floor.
Set three belonged to the Bobcats as Montana State outhit Washington State .407 to .069. In the final game, WSU broke away down the stretch for the match victory.
Freshman setter Mackenzi Campbell dished out 36 assists and recorded three aces and six digs. Senior libero Meghan Albiston guided MSU with a team-high 16 digs, while Alex Penewell led the Bobcats at the net with four blocks.
WSU was paced by Brittany Tillman with 15 kills, while hitting .522 from the field.
MSU will face Cal Poly on Saturday.
