Ursula Kunhardt, a 6-foot outside hitter from Corte Madera, Calif., has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Montana State volleyball team next season, announced Bobcat head coach Sara Schaub.
Kunhardt, who preps at Redwood High School, helped her squad to the 2007 and 2010 Marin County Athletic League championship and an undefeated season in 2008 and 2009, as well. During her tenure with the Giants, RHS has posted a 107-30 overall record. The Giants are currently 30-6 on the season.
“We are very excited to add Ursula to the Bobcat family,” Schaub said. “She is a very dynamic and athletic outside hitter. Ursula will add power and depth to our offense.
“During her senior season, she transitioned to an all-around player that will help us in all six rotations,” Schaub said. “She is a great fit for our program and we are looking forward to her helping us out next season.”
A two-time all-MCAL first-team performer, Kunhardt was named Marin Independent Journal Player of the Week on two occasions, and was her squad's 2009 offensive player of the year.
Kunhardt is a four-year letterwinner for head coach Katie Pease at RHS.
She is the daughter of Tom Kunhardt and Helen Lindberg.
