Hornets Sting Bobcat Spikers in Three

In its only match of the weekend, the Sacramento State volleyball team handed the Bobcats a 3-0 setback on Friday night.
Sacramento State (13-9, 4-3) out-hit Montana State (2-15, 0-8) .245 to .133 and also held advantages in kills, aces, digs and blocks, en route to the victory.
In the opening set, the Hornets jumped out early and built its largest lead at 21-11 to cruise to the win. In the second stanza, MSU held a 15-14 advantage following a Lauren Curtis kill. However, Sacramento State responded with an 11-2 run to stake a 2-0 margin in the match.
The third set featured 16 ties and eight lead changes. Trailing 16-12, the Bobcats rattled off an 8-4 run to tie the score at 20-all. With the set knotted at 23-all, the Hornets scored on a Montana State hitting error and a service ace to win the match.
The Bobcats were paced in the loss by Kyla Hendry with eight kills. Defensively, MSU was led by libero Meghan Albiston with a match-high 18 digs. Also in double-digit digs was Jodeen Rademacher with 11 saves.
At the net, MSU was guided by Taylor Faught and Kylie Edinger with three blocks, apiece. Faught also dished out 25 assists, while adding seven digs.
Sacramento State was led by Maddison Thivierge with seven kills and a .636 attack mark.
MSU will travel to Montana next Friday.
