Montana State lost a 6-1 non-conference match at Boise State on Sunday
Sophomore Nejc Sitar earned a straight sets singles victory on Sunday, but that stood as Montana State's only point of the day in a 6-1 non-conference loss at Boise State.
Sitar earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles, topping BSU's Michael Bott for MSU's only win of the afternoon. Boise State swept all three doubles matches to capture that point, then won at the other five singles spots. A pair of Bobcat freshmen continued their impressive play in narrow losses. Brad Buckland dropped a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 contest against Wyatt DeMulling at No. 4, while Boise State's Lawrence Sciglitano edged Jakob Mosvold 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5.
In the other singles matches, Joaquin Espinoza lost for the second straight day at the top ladder spot. Bronco Blake Bayldon earned a 6-4, 6-1 win. At No. 2, freshman Daan Van Dijk lost to Simon Arca Costas 6-2, 6-2, while BSU's Lukas Ridemar earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jacob Huppin at No. 6.
Montana State's arduous non-conference schedule continues next weekend when the Bobcats play at Utah State on March 28, and at BYU and Weber State on March 29.
