The Montana State men's tennis team opened its home season with a convincing 4-0 decision over Seattle U on Friday morning in the Bobcat Anderson Tennis Center.
The Bobcats opened the match winning the doubles point with victories at Nos. 1 and 3 on the ladder. MSU's top tandem of Nejc Sitar and Grant Wood defeated SU's Alex Chan and Trenton Nield 6-3 to clinch the point.
"It was a great performance from the guys from start to finish," said head coach Trey Morris. "They did an amazing job of throwing the first punch in doubles and staying on top the whole way."
MSU pushed the lead to 3-0 as Bozeman product Marcos Zelver and Christian Damgaard Qvist each won in straight sets, giving up just six games, apiece. Sitar, a sophomore from Maribor, Slovenia, closed out the match for the Bobcats at the top spot with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Nield.
