Montana State third-year head coach Daniel Jones announced on Monday that openings remain for MSU’s individual camps, while its team camp has maxed-out with a sold-out number of thirty-six teams- from three states- registered for the July 11-13 event.
BOZEMAN, Mont. – There's good news and good news for the Montana State volleyball program when it comes to summer camps. Montana State third-year head coach Daniel Jones announced on Monday that openings remain for MSU's individual camps, while its team camp has maxed-out with a sold-out number of thirty-six teams- from three states- registered for the July 11-13 event.
"As a program, the past two years have seen us do things on the court that we haven't done in a long time- going to the Big Sky Conference tournament, repeating double-digit winning seasons, and earning numerous conference accolades," Jones said. "The trend is continued in our camps as they continue to become more popular, and we are seeing bigger numbers all the time. To see the 'sold-out' sign go up is exciting on many levels."
Individual camps that remain open are All-Skills Camp (ages 13-18), July 7-9; Position Camp (ages 13-18), July 9-10; Little Bobcats (for kids 5-12) July 15-16; and Elite Camp, Aug. 2-4. The Little Bobcat camp will also have one-day option on either the 15th or 16th.
"Camps are one of the favorite times of the year for our players and staff," Jones stated. "It is such a unique setting for both the campers and our athletes. We get to share our passion and enthusiasm for the game that we play and love, while passing on the technical, tactical and mental skills we have honed to make it to this elite level of volleyball, and they get to share their love for the Bobcats and for our team."
All camps are open to girls and boys with the All-Skills, Position and Elite Camps offering a commuter or overnight camper rate, as well. For more information on camps, go to the Bobcat Volleyball homepage at msubobcats.com or contact associate head coach Katie Hinrichs at khinrichs@msubobcats.com.
"Jourdain Klein (Ennis) is such a great example of what happens at our camps," Jones said. "She has been coming to camps since her high school freshman year, and this year she will be wearing the Blue and Gold representing our team as a camp coach. No doubt, there will be another Jourdain in camps this year."
