Cats face North Dakota, South Dakota State on Saturday
If there's one constant in the Montana State men's tennis program at the moment, it's that there aren't many constants. After an 11-day hiatus the Bobcats return to the hardcourt Saturday to face conference rival North Dakota at noon and South Dakota State in a non-league contest at 5 pm (both Mountain time).
The trip, however, is unusual. "It will be a pretty quick trip to play two matches," said Bobcat coach Jared Burnham. "North Dakota is an improving team so that will be a difficult match. South Dakota State is a team we don't cross paths with, so that's an unknown for us."
Plagued by injury and illness when last the team competed, the Bobcats have used the last 10 days to recover and regroup. Saturday's matches also initiate a sprint to the finish that features eight matches in 28 days.
"We're fighting to get into the (Big Sky) Tournament, so every match is important," Burnham said. "This is the time of year you want to be playing well."
The Bobcats return to Bozeman next week to host Sacramento State on April 8 at 9 am and Idaho State on April 9 at 2 pm.
