The Montana State women's tennis team travels to Laramie, Wyo., and Greeley, Colo., for a competition loaded weekend. Saturday, Feb. 11, the Bobcats will take on Wyoming. MSU will conclude weekend play at Northern Colorado on Sunday morning.
The Bobcats are currently 2-1 on the year with wins over Lewis-Clark State and Seattle University.
The Cowboys are 3-2 overall, with two of its victories coming over Big Sky rivals Idaho and North Dakota. UNC enters the weekend 2-1 overall.
"We had a good three-match road trip to begin our season, and are excited to get on the road again," said second-year Bobcat coach Jon Reeves. "[The Cowboys] make you play long, tough points and they compete hard from top to bottom."
MSU senior Laura Middel has held down the No. 1 singles spot for the Cats and is 1-2 on the year. Middel also has played at the No. 1 doubles spot alongside fellow senior Naomi Holopainen, posting a 2-0 record.
Montana State opens conference play in Greeley. It's the Big Sky opener for both squads.
"We need to keep our focus on what we can control, playing how we practice and paying attention to the details," said Reeves on the team's first conference dual. "We have five seniors and they are watching dual match results closely. Our team is ready to go."
