The University of Wyoming captured the opening doubles point winning all three spots, en route to a 6-1 win over Montana State, Saturday afternoon.
The University of Wyoming captured the opening doubles point winning all three spots, en route to a 6-1 win over Montana State, Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to secure the opening point. No. 1 doubles also went Wyoming's way, despite a hard fought 7-6(4) effort from MSU's top duo of Laura Middel and Naomi Holopainen.
UW's Tessa van Der Ploeg started singles play with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 over Holopainen and the Cowgirls secured the match with straight set victories at Nos. 1 and 2. Montana State's lone point came at No. 5 singles, where senior Jessica Brycki recorded a 7-5, 6-2 decision over Milka Genkova.
MSU will open Big Sky Conference play at Northern Colorado on Sunday morning in Greeley.
