Bobcats Win Doubles Point but Drop Team Decision vs. Cal Poly

MSU drops 4-1 decision to Mustangs in Boise
(March 14, 2026) – Cal Poly won a 4-1 men's tennis decision against Montana State in Boise on Saturday, but the Bobcats logged one positive achievement.
"We were really tough in doubles," said MSU head coach Mateus Ceolin of his team's performance against the Mustangs in Boise. "I'm proud of the way we played there. We can build on that. We accomplished some good things this weekend, and now it's back to Big Sky play."
The Bobcats opened the contest with a win at No. 1 doubles by Andre Stewart and Yassin Elaroussy. The topped Jovan Lubbe and Leo Matthysen 6-2. The Mustangs evened things with a 6-3 win by Raz Haviv and Luc Hoeijmans over Camille Chantron and Eddie Biss at the second spot. MSU won the clincher when Oumar Diallo and Max Calaquian beat Jack Cross and Sean Kamyshev 6-3.
Singles play was all Mustangs. Cal Poly won on the top (Lubbe beat Elaroussy) and bottom (Matthysen beat Calaquian) ladder spots to gain momentum. CP then finished off the Bobcats with wins at No. 5 (Aaron Eliscu beat Biss) and the fourth spot (Cross topped Chantron).
The Bobcats, now 4-8 on the season, play at Idaho in a Big Sky match on Saturday, March 21.
