Montana State women's tennis closes out its regular season schedule hosting Eastern Washington, Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m. in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center. The match will honor MSU's four seniors- Marta Garcia-Reboredo, Andrea Cuquerella, Mia Ljubas, and Jojo Bach- with a post-match ceremony.
Montana State is 9-10 overall and 3-4 in Big Sky Conference play, while Eastern Washington enters 4-12, 2-4. The Eagles play at Montana on Sunday to complete its regular season slate.
"We're excited to get back on the court and compete in our last regular season match," said MSU head coach Suzie Woodburn. "We want to build some momentum as we head into postseason play.
"We also get to celebrate four outstanding women who have helped build our culture," Woodburn added. "Marta (Garcia-Reboredo) and Andrea (Cuquerella) have been with the program four years, Mia (Ljubas) two years, and J (Jojo Bach) for just this season, and all have made an impact on our program as well as raise the level of excellence and expectations."
Garcia-Reboredo, a two-time All-Big Sky Conference performer from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, is one of three Bobcats to reach double-digit wins in singles action this spring. Playing at No. 1, she has recorded a 10-7 overall mark. Also, in double-figures are sophomores Meg McCarty and Hudson Hawkins. McCarty, a Bozeman native, is 11-4 at No. 2 singles, including a 5-2 ledger in league action. Hawkins is 10-7 overall.
MSU's top doubles tandem, McCarty and Bach, remain undefeated in Big Sky play with a 5-0 record. The duo is 13-2 overall.
