Cats capture second win in last three matches
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State closed out the home portion of its men's tennis schedule on a high note Thursday, topping Eastern Washington 5-2 in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
The Eagles got off to a flying start by taking the doubles point, but most of the rest of the evening belonged to MSU. The Cats got wins in quick succession at the fourth and third ladder spots, with freshmen Camille Chantron and Yassin Elaroussy each capturing straight set wins. Chantron won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, while Elaroussy took a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3.
MSU won No. 6 singles by retirement, then Bobcat Dmitry Bezborodov cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win at the top ladder spot to clinch the match for Montana State. Andre Stewart won 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles to polish off the match for the Cats.
Montana State plays its final two matches of 2025 on the road, visiting league-leading Northern Arizona on Saturday at 10 am before closing the regular season on April 19 at Montana.
