Bobcats Open Competition at Dale McNamara Invitational

Montana State tied for 13th through 36 holes in Oklahoma
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. --- The Montana State women's golf team completed its first day of competition at the Route 66 Invitational Honoring Dale McNamara on Monday, shooting a combined 609 over 36 holes at Cedar Ridge Country Club to finish day one tied for 13th place.
The Bobcats posted rounds of 306 and 303 on the par-71 course on Monday as Eva Heinz carded MSU's lowest score of the day at 8-over 150. Heinz currently holds a share of 40th place, Lauren Greeny is tied for 48th with a 36-hole total of 152, Sailor Graham sits in a tie for 56th with a 153, Maddie Montoya posted a 157 to tie for 69th, and Norah Seidl added a 158 to head into Tuesday tied for 71st.
Greeny counted a 74 to lead the Bobcats in round one, posting birdies on holes 1 and 12 to highlight her first trip around the course. Montana State also counted 77s from Graham, who carded one of the field's three eagles on the day, and Seidl. Heinz posted the final counting round of the morning with a 78, shooting par or better on 14 of 18 holes.
Heinz improved on that hole-to-hole consistency in the second round by posting 16 bogey-free holes, leading Montana State with a 1-over 72 in the afternoon. She shot par or better on each of her last 10 holes, highlighted by a birdie on hole 14. The Bobcats also counted a 76 from Graham, a 77 by Montoya, and a 78 by Greeny in the final round of the day. Graham sunk birdies on holes 4 and 6 followed by seven-straight pars on holes 9 through 15. Montoya and Greeny each added birdies on hole 8 while Greeny also had birdies on holes 11 and 14.
The Bobcats remain within striking distance of several teams as they look to climb the leaderboard on Tuesday. At 41-over par, MSU sits nine strokes back of Cal Poly and Alabama, who are in a tie for ninth place (+32). The Bobcats are also just four strokes behind Georgia Southern and BYU for 11th place (+37).
No. 8 Arkansas (-10) leads Southeastern Conference competitor Oklahoma (E) by 10 strokes while Tulsa rounds out the top three teams at +11.
Individually, Oklahoma's Savannah Barber and Arkansas' Maria Jose Marin share the lead at 8-under 134, with Arkansas' Reagan Zibilski, Wisconsin's Tammy Wu, and Oklahoma's Gracie Mayo splitting third place at 3-under 139.
The Bobcats are paired with Sam Houston and a mix of golfers from Alabama, Arkansas, BYU, and Oklahoma on Tuesday. Play will resume for the third and final round at 7:30 a.m. MT, with live scoring available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
