Northern Arizona Topples Bobcats in Big Sky Men's Tennis Action

Max Relic, Andras Necz capture singles wins
BOZEMAN, Montana – Northern Arizona earned a hard-fought doubles point and a clinching win at No. 6 singles to top the Bobcats 5-2 in a men's tennis dual in Bozeman on Friday.
After taking the top doubles ladder spot with a narrow 6-4 win, the Lumberjacks grabbed the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-3) win on the third court. The No. 2 doubles contest was abandoned in a tie-breaker when the point was clinched.
NAU's Dani Torres captured a 6-4, 6-4 win over Dario Ciobotaru on court two to open singles play, but the Bobcats answered. Andras Necz earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Maikel De Boes of NAU at No. 3 singles, and in short order the Bobcats' Max Relic took a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 win on the first court to draw MSU even in the team score, 2-2.
That would stand as MSU's last triumph of the afternoon. Maciej Ziomber won a 7-5, 6-7 (1-7), 6-2 match at No. 4 singles, and Jakub Prachar's 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles clinched Northern Arizona's team win. Semen Agynskyy earned a 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8) win at No. 5 to close the proceedings.
Northern Arizona remained in contention for the Big Sky regular season title with the win, raising its record to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in the league. MSU now stands 8-11 overall, 3-4 in the Big Sky.
