“I was really impressed with our singles,” Woodburn said. “Everyone was focused and disciplined with their tennis. Whatever their style, they committed to it and good things happened.”
Montana State captured the opening doubles point and won four of six singles matches to post a 5-2 win over Seattle U on Sunday morning in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
Montana State's (2-0) top doubles tandem of Marta Garcia-Reboredo and Hudson Hawkins defeated SU's Anastasia Nikolova and Elena Kraleva 7-5, before the Bobcats' No. 3 duo of Andrea Cuquerella and Meg McCarty captured a 7-6 (8-6) tiebreaker over Lamija Avdic and Jade Quintana.
"I'm so proud of our doubles," said MSU head coach Suzie Woodburn. "I think on Friday we had the first match jitters and today we came out ready to go and ready to compete. We played big in the big moments. And getting the doubles point led right into singles."

For the second straight match, Cuquerella clinched the contest at No. 6 singles, registering a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Shuanghui Huang, giving the Bobcats a commanding 4-0 advantage.
