Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Wraps Up First Weekend, Heads to ITA All-American Tournament

First-year coach Rob Bareford pleased with level of competition
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State opened its fall men's tennis season last weekend competing in the Bedford Cup at the Air Force Academy.
The competition provided a first look in competition for first-year head coach Rob Bareford. The Bobcats finished 7-10 in singles matches and 2-5 in doubles.
"It was an exciting weekend as this was the first time Coach (Grayson) Burns and I saw the team compete," Bareford said. "We learned some things we need to focus on before the next tourney and we're ready to get after it."
The Bobcats head to the ITA All-American Tournament at the University of Tulsa beginning Saturday, October 1. Full results from last weekend are below:

JACOB HUPPIN (Eagle Draw): lost to Roko Stipetic (New Mexico State) 4-6, 4-6; def. Charlie Spina (Utah) 6-2, 7-6(4); def. Vasanth Mathan (New Mexico State) withdrew.
JAMIESON NATHAN (Lightning Draw): lost to Matteo Masala (Idaho) 2-6, 3-6; withdrew.
MATEJ PANIK (Lightning Draw): lost to Francisco Gay (Idaho) 4-6, 3-6; def. Arjun Kersten (Air Force) 6-7 (4), 6-1, 10-8; lost to Sebastian Buxman (Weber State) 5-7, 6-4, 9-11.
MAX RELIC (Eagle Draw): def. Henrik Lynum (New Mexico State) 6-0, 6-2; def. AJ Moore (Air Force) 7-6, 6-3; lost to Conner Olsen (Denver) 6-7, 1-6.
NEJC SITAR (Raptor Draw): lost to Danilo Raicevic (Denver) 4-6, 6-4, 5-7; def. Jan Luca Marquardt (Boise State) 7-5, 6-3; lost to Elyes Marouani (Weber State) 6-4, 2-6, 10-12.
