Martin, Bobcats Start Strong in Multis Meet Monday

Noah Martin tied a lifetime best, and set another, to pace the Bobcats on the opening day of the MSU Multis Meet
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Sophomore Noah Martin was Montana State's top point producer in the heptathlon following the first day of the MSU-UM Multis Dual Meet Invitational Monday, Jan. 8, at Worthington Arena.
Martin tied his career-best mark in the high jump by clearing 06-11 (2.11m) and also set a lifetime best in the 60-meter dash (7.37) en route to scoring 2,842 points in the men's heptathlon. Through four events, Martin sits in third place trailing by 34 points.
Montana's Jordan Stow (2,869) is currently in second while Mason Storm paces the field unattached with a 2,876-point total. Storm – who is competing unattached but has a senior year of eligibility remaining for the Bobcats – topped his best shot put of his collegiate career (37-05) and was a top-three finisher in all four events Monday.
Caleb Neth and Brock Butcher also competed on the men's side for Montana State.
Neth sits in sixth place with 2,532 points and Butcher is eighth with 2,258 points. Alex Lewis, a Montana State athlete competing unattached, is in fifth with 2,546 points.
Freshman Jazmin Wilberg made her first appearance in the pentathlon for the Bobcats' women's team. She completed the event with 2,833 points, as Erika McLeod – competing unattached – took first in the pentathlon with 3,648 points.
The men's heptathlon comes to a close inside of Worthington Arena on Tuesday. The Bobcats' and Griz athletes will begin the first of the final three events at 10 a.m.
