Rob McManus Named CSC Third-Team Academic All-American

McManus recognized with prestigious honor to cap off Bobcat career
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- Montana State track & field's Rob McManus was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
McManus became the first Bobcat men's track & field athlete to earn the distinction since 2022, when Duncan Hamilton and Alec Nehring claimed the award. He is the eighth Bobcat man in program history to take home the award, with those student-athletes combining for 11 Academic All-America honors over the course of their career.
McManus graduated from Montana State this spring with a bachelor's degree in Earth Science - Geography, earning a 3.58 GPA. In his five-year career, he was a three-time All-American in the steeplechase with an honorable mention nod in 2026, also adding a second-team honor in the indoor mile. A nine-time All-Big Sky performer across track and cross country, McManus ranks second in program history and fourth in Big Sky history in the 3,000m steeplechase, as well as second in MSU history in the mile. He appears on the Montana State all-time top-10 list eight times.
McManus concluded his collegiate career with an Honorable Mention All-America honor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this past spring. He earned his third-straight Big Sky title in the event in May and was named the Men's Most Outstanding Performer at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships thanks to his championship-winning performance. McManus also swept sixth place in the 5,000m at the indoor and outdoor conference championship meets to accumulate three scoring performances over the course of the season.
McManus was one of 45 men's track & field student-athletes nationally selected as a CSC Academic All-American for the 2025-26 season, including one of 15 selected to the Third Team. The prestigious honor marks the first of his career.
