The Montana State women’s tennis teams begins its fall season at the Air Force Invitational this weekend in Colorado Springs.

MSU Head Coach Jon Reeves will get his first look at a revamped Bobcat line-up as Montana State returns just one player from its squad that went 14-6 overall and 9-2 in Big Sky Conference action, last spring.
"We are excited to get started," Reeves said. "The Air Force Invite is the beginning of a seven month season. Seven of our eight players are different from one year ago. Our team is young, excited and anxious to get going."
Competing in the invitational along with Air Force and MSU are Western Kentucky, Arkansas State, Arizona, Denver, Northern Colorado and Southern Utah.
Senior Angelina Philippova is Montana State's lone returning player. The product of Astrakhan, Russia notched a 12-7 overall singles record and a 7-4 Big Sky mark at the No. 4 spot in the ladder, last year. In doubles action, Philippova went 9-7 overall.
MSU's French connection of transfer Laura Mary and Emma Podeur will pace the Cats this weekend. Mary, who sat out last season with an injury after transferring from Coastal Carolina, will play in the No. 1 singles draw, while Podeur, a freshman from Mons en Baroeul, France, will see action in the No. 2 singles bracket.
