MSU Cats Men's Tennis Team Faces Key Weekend Road Matches

Cats visit Idaho on Saturday, Eastern Washington on Sunday
Eight teams. Six spots. That's the math Montana State's men's tennis team faces entering the final two weeks of the regular season.
That stretch begins Saturday at 4 pm at Idaho. The Cats then meet Eastern Washington at 4 pm on Sunday.
"They are a couple of really big matches," Bobcat coach Jared Burnham said. "Playing on the road is always a challenge, especially against competition this good."
Northern Arizona leads the Big Sky with an 8-1 conference record. Eastern Washington and Idaho share second place with a 6-2 league mark. Four teams stand between those teams and the Bobcats, who share seventh place with Weber State at 4-3. Six teams qualify for the Big Sky Conference post-season tournament.
MSU has been stellar in doubles play during its Big Sky season. Bobcat doubles teams are 13-8 against league foes. Singles play has proven more challenging, especially at the top ladder spots. MSU is 22-19 in Big Sky singles matches, but just 2-5 on the top line.
In the season's final weekend, MSU's task loses no importance. MSU hosts Weber State and Montana. The Grizzlies enter its matches at EWU this weekend with a 5-3 league mark.
