The Bobcats compete in their third of six spring tournaments when they make their debut at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational on Thursday
The Montana State women's golf team continues competition while on Spring Break by heading to St. George, Utah, for the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at the SunBrook Golf Course beginning on Thursday, March 16.
Senior Janelle Reali, junior Jaylee Tait and freshmen Delaney Elliott, Kelly Hooper and Coral Schulz will hit the links for the Bobcats beginning at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
MSU heads into the par 72 5,914-yard course coming off a seventh-place finish at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix over the weekend. Jaylee Tait led the squad with a 5-over-par 221 to finish tied for eighth overall after three rounds. Elliott followed by earning a tie for 18th and Hooper took 30th by wrapping her final round with an even-par 72.
"A couple of them have played the golf course before," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We can shoot some good numbers on this golf course if our short games are decent.
"We had a couple of days to relax and I think they're ready go again. We learned from the good and bad that went on at Grand Canyon and we have to keep moving forward. Each round we play is a matter of getting the girls more experience prepping us for conference. I'm excited to get them out on the golf course again and see how SunBrook treats us."
The Bobcats are participating in their third of six tournaments this spring. MSU will be in Arizona in two meets over a week span from April 6-11, then head to the Big Sky Conference Championship which starts on April 21 in Boulder City, Nev.
