Bobcat Men's Tennis Falls in Season Opener to Seattle

MSU faces SU in Eugene again on Saturday
A pair of newcomers won singles matches but Montana State dropped its season opener to Seattle in Eugene, Oregon, on Friday.
Kasper Parklo earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Alex Junior Chen at No. 5 singles, while freshman Max Petrak topped Adrian Sambala 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6 to pace the Cats. In doubles play, Rok Sitar and Alex Flink teamed up for a win at No. 2 doubles, but Seattle captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
"It was our first match of the season, and we played like it," said Bobcat coach Jared Burnham. "There were some positives and a lot of things to improve on. It was a start."
Sitar lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Kellen Bates fell 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, and Flink dropped a 7-6, 7-5 contest at No. 3. Jose Torrico fell 6-2, 0-6, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
The Cats play Seattle again on Saturday, also in Eugene.
