Golf to Compete at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

Arizona outing marks final tune-up tournament before Big Sky Championship
Montana State Women's Golf has one final chance to zero in on their game when they compete at the Cowgirl Classic hosted by Wyoming, beginning Monday, April 7. The two-day tournament at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
The "Bobcat Five" rostered for the tournament are ready to take the step up and work on estbalishing consistent play. Janelle Reali, Kati Greear, Paige Crawford, Haylee Folkvord and Pamela Calderon Rojas will compete and look to contend among the field of 20 teams at Ak-Chin, a 6,231 yard, par 72 course.
Seven Big Sky Conference school will be in attendance, in addition to Montana State, including Eastern Washington, Montana, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sacramento State, Southern Utah and Weber State. Also competing will be tournament host Wyoming, Boise State, who won in 2013, Brigham Young, Lamar, Nevada, New Mexico State, Oral Roberts, Santa Clara, Seattle, UTP, Tulsa and Utah Valley.
"This is a great golf course and we are definitely really excited," said head coach Brittany Basye. "We've had some strong practices leading up to this, especially focusing on our short game. We'll get to see eight other league schools on Monday and Tuesday to really set the tone and gauge our progress as we get close to Big Sky."
The first two rounds will be played on Monday, beginning at 8:45 a.m. (MDT), followed by a final round of 18 on Tuesday with the same starting time.
