Women's Golf Hits the Road for Two-Tournament Swing

Trips to St. George, Las Vegas to highlight spring break trip for MSU
The Southern Utah Invitational marks the inaugural event, held at Sunbrook Golf Club, a par-72, 6,092-yard course.
The two-day tournament will begin Thursday with a full 18 holes each day and marks the first time this group of Bobcats will play at Sunbrook.
Despite spending a lot of the spring season training inside in a simulated facility, head coach Brittany Basye feels the team is ready, even without a ton of actual course play.
"I think it creates a lack of expectation, in a very good way," said Basye. "We see this at an advantage because it really raises our focus levels and our mental game."
MSU will travel their full roster of seven, including Paige Crawford, last year's Big Sky Champion and overall team leader throughout the course of the 2013-14 season.
The Bobcats will see competition from tournament host and Big Sky member Southern Utah, as well as Creighton, Dixie State, Eastern Washington, Grand Canyon, Idaho State, North Dakota, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Weber State.
"Coming off not being outside, this is a great course to kick off this week," Basye said. "They'll be out there, playing a ton, really on the grind so we should really see some great challenges and hopefully that success we're after."
Following the Southern Utah Invite, Montana State will head to the Las Vegas area to Primm Valley Golf Club for the Jackrabbit Invitational, hosted by South Dakota State on March 17-18. Last year, MSU placed seventh of 13 and will look for considerable improvement. Montana State will play their top-five finishers following the results from St. George.
