Bobcats Finish 12th at Cougar Cup

Final Round bests Bobcats
Montana State Women's Golf closed out the Cougar Cup, hosted by Washington State, on Tuesday and fell one spot to finish in 12th place overall among a field of 12 programs. MSU carded a three-round total of 983 (320-329-334) at Palouse Ridge. Tournament host Washingston State won the event with a combined 886 (297-291-298). (Complete Results)
Paige Crawford was the teams highest finisher for the third consecutive time this fall. She dropped three spots from the second round and finished 26th overall with 236 (+20). She carded 76-79-81 over 54 holes. Freshman Janelle Reali jumped one spot to come in 31st with 237 (+21). Although she was disqualified after the second round, Kati Greear shot an 83 in the last 18.
Pamela Calderon Rojas came in 67th (258/86-82-90), followed by Haylee Folkvord, who played as an individual in 71st (266/87-90-89). Lauren Hausauer, the final scoring Bobcat came in 72nd carding 272 (94-87-91). Rounding out the MSU roster was Bergen Buck in 74th with 282 (92-95-95).
"Paige, Janelle and Kati really hung in there," said head coach Brittany Basye. "Conditions were tough and they did what they could to try to get out there and compete. We just need to keep moving forward, refocusing and begin playing up to our potential as a team."
Of the 12 teams competing, four others (Eastern Washington, Montana, Sacramento State, Portland State) were Big Sky Conference members.
The Bobcats take a brief break from fall play and will return to action on Oct. 12-13 for the Cowgirl Desert Collegiate, hosted by Wyoming in Palm Desert, Calif.
