Bobcats set for Spring Break Tournament
The Montana State women's golf team is off to the Jackrabbit Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12 in Primm, Nev. The 13-team tournament will be hosted by the South Dakota State Jackrabbits of The Summit League.
The 54-hole event will be held at the Primm Valley Golf Club on the 6,945-yard, par-71 Lakes Course. The first 36 holes will be played on Monday beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the final 18 on Tuesday also beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Bobcats lineup for the tournament will be Paige Crawford, Molly Dorans, Kelly O'Brien, Pamela Calderon Rojas and Katie Hausauer. This will be Hausauer's first time competing since Oct. 13-14 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate. Kati Greear is out due to back issues.
“We are ready to get back at it and really gain some confidence this week during the tournament and days we will be outside being able to practice, said head coach Brittany Basye.
Of the 13-team field, MSU will be competing with two other Big Sky Conference members, Eastern Washington and North Dakota. Also competing are host SDSU, North Dakota State, Drake, Youngstown State, Oakland, Southern Illinois, Creighton, Arkansas State, Western Illinois and Houston Baptist.
“Paige, Molly, Kelly and Pam are very anxious to get back to the golf course. Lauren is excited to be outside and see how her game is looking. Overall, I feel we can use this week as a momentum gainer. This is a big week for us, we need to work hard,” added Basye.
The event will have live scoring on golfstat.com and a recap of each day's results will be posted on msubobcats.com.
