Dorans, Crawford finish within top-25
The Montana State women's golf team finished the Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday in Primm, Nevada at the Primm Valley Golf Club.(Final Results)
A team score of 963 was good for a seventh place finish for the Bobcats. After Monday's first round score of 331, MSU finished round two on Tuesday morning with a score of 318 and ended the tournament with a third round score of 314.
Molly Dorans was the top finisher for MSU, finishing in a tie for 14th place with a total score of 234 (78-79-77). Paige Crawford was next best for MSU, posting a score of 237 (81-76-80) and placing 21st. Kelly O'Brien tied for 41st with a score of 247 (89-84-74); her third round score was the best in the tournament for MSU. Pamela Calderon Rojas carded a 248 (86-79-83) to finish tied for 44th. Rounding out the scoring for the Bobcats was Lauren Hausauer, finishing in 58th with a score of 258 (86-85-87).
The team title went to Houston Baptist with a score of 926 (306-321-299), with Eastern Washington in second with a team score of 932 (318-306-308), and Arkansas State with 937 (313-319-305) taking third.
Amy Anderson of North Dakota State took home the individual title with a total score of 209 (70-70-69). Marissa Borja (223) of Eastern Washington and Jennifer Loiacano (226) of Arkansas State rounded out the top three.
“The second round was a good comeback round for the team. We needed to work hard in the third round to keep the momentum going. I can see the confidence building and the short games are definitely getting better,” said head coach Brittany Basye.
Up next for the Bobcats is the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 8-10 at the Ocotillo Golf Course in Chandler, Ariz.
