Iowa won the team championship at Ocotillo Golf Resort with a score of 884 (289-301-294). Their day one score of 289 marked a tournament-best.
Kelly O'Brien was the highest finisher for the Blue and Gold for all three rounds. O'Brien ended with 234 (75-80-79) in a tie for 64th place. Paige Crawford came in 69th, carding 235 (78-78-79). In 87th was Molly Dorans with 240 (80-79-81). Katie Michunovich ended the week in 99th place with a score of 244 (79-81-84). Melissa Hultstrand, who saw a 10-stroke drop yesterday, rounded out the Bobcat golfers in 115th with 252 (86-76-90).
Leslie McGetrick, who competed as an individual, placed 32nd overall with 228 (76-77-75).
Colorado State's Brianna Espinoza was the medalist, carding 208 over three rounds (68-68-72). Espinoza shot the lowest individual score in tournament history, with a 208 (-8), surpassing a 213 (-3) shot by Britney Yada of Portland State in 2011. Espinoza held at least a share of the lead all three days.
"While our scores weren't exactly as strong as we needed them, I'm glad we've had the chance to play this course before Conference," said head coach Brittany Basye. "We made a lot of birdies and I think that will help with our confidence as we head to the final three rounds at Ocotillo."
The Bobcats will have three more rounds at Ocotillo, as they close out the 2012 season at the Big Sky Championship. The three-day championship will take place April 22-24.
