Montana State sophomore Ellie Crum notched MSU's lone point as the University of New Mexico recorded a 6-1 victory over the Bobcat women's tennis team, Sunday afternoon in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.

Crum, a native of Great Falls, recorded a hard-fought 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 win over UNM's Kristin Eggleston at No. 4 singles. The Bobcats also received a strong performance at No. 6 singles, despite Gabi Villegas dropping a narrow 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 decision to Laura Richardson.

MSU's doubles tandems at Nos. 2 and 3 also gave the Lobos fits, as Crum and Paulina Lopez dropped an 8-7 loss, while Villegas and De La Torre were defeated at the No. 3 spot 9-7.

“Again, we continue to focus on each match one-point at a time,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “We are showing steady improvement in both singles and doubles, with the ultimate goal to be playing our best come April.”

MSU will be idle this weekend.
