Bobcats set for first of two trips to California
The Montana State women's golf team heads to Palm Desert, Calif. this weekend to participate in the 2012 Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by the University of Wyoming women's golf team.
The tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday at The Classic Club, a 6,119 yard, par 72 course. The first two rounds of 18 holes each will begin on Saturday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. PT, and Sunday's final 18 holes will begin at the same time.
Competing for the Bobcats in California will be senior Molly Dorans, juniors Paige Crawford and Pamela Calderon Rojas, and freshmen Kati Greear and Lauren Hausauer.
Head Coach Brittany Basye had this to add on the Bobcats first of two trips to California: “We're excited to get back to tournament play and make some good things happen at the Classic Club”.
Along with host school Wyoming, MSU will be part of a 19-team field that includes seven other Big Sky Conference members, including Weber State, Montana, Northern Arizona, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Southern Utah and Northern Colorado. Also competing in the tournament will be the College of Charleston, Fresno State, UTEP, Hawaii, Cal State Fullerton, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Seattle U, UC Riverside and CSU Northridge.
Last year, the Bobcats finished 13th out of 15 teams that participated in the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate Tournament. Paige Crawford was MSU's top finisher, placing 27th overall.
Complete results and a recap will be posted on msubobcats.com following each day.
