MSU faces regular season champion Hornets in Big Sky Tourney

Montana State opens play at the 2011 Big Sky Conference Men's Tennis Championships Saturday morning against two-time defending champion Sacramento State, which dominated the Big Sky with an 8-0 record this season. The Hornets are led by Kiryl Harbatsiuk, a senior from Minsk, Belarus, who is the 27th-ranked player in Division I. The Hornets enter the tournament on a four-match losing skid, but all four losses came against top 50 foes.
The location of the match had not yet been determined late Friday afternoon. If the matches are played in the Anderson-Bobcat Tennis Center, MSU's match begins at 8 am, with the Montana-NAU men's semifinal at 12 noon. If the matches are played outdoors at the MSU Tennis Courts, the men's semifinals each begin at 10 am.
The Bobcats dropped home matches to fellow Big Sky qualifiers Montana and NAU last weekend, but both were 4-3 losses that came down to the final match of the day. MSU's no. two singles player Fletcher Keyes leads the Bobcats with a 13-8 mark on the season, while Pawel Turzanski is 12-10 at no. one.
