Seidl earned second NCAA Regional berth in program history with Big Sky individual title
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- Montana State junior golfer Norah Seidl is set to compete at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional starting on Monday and continuing through Wednesday at the par-70, 6,177-yard UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The tournament will begin with tee times from holes 1 and 10 at 6 a.m. MT each day. Seidl, who will tee off from hole 10 on Monday, is set to open competition at 7:50 a.m. MT each day. All three days of the tournament will be live streamed on the Babygrande Golf YouTube channel, which can be found here.
"We're obviously super excited to still be playing, and getting the opportunity to travel to Chapel Hill and playing UNC Finley Golf Club is pretty cool," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "Norah just got back this week from the USGA Four-Ball that she and Maddie qualified for last fall. They played extremely well, making it to the match play rounds, and falling in a 4&2 loss on Monday. Norah's game is solid right now, and I know she's excited about her opportunity in regionals, where she'll be competing with top golfers from around the country. She'll have a couple good days of practice, learn the golf course, and we will have a game plan for round one, which starts Monday. Super excited for Norah. She has earned every bit of this journey she's still on."
Seidl is one of six individuals competing in the 66-player field, which also includes 12 teams vying for a berth to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, Calif., on May 22-27. The top five teams and the top individual not on an advancing team will advance from each regional site to compete at the NCAA Championships. The 12 teams selected to compete in Chapel Hill, in order of seeding, are Texas, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kent State, Virginia, Michigan State, NC State, High Point, Furman, Richmond, and Howard. The tournament's six individuals are Pinky Chaisilprungruang (Charlotte), Thanana Kotchasanmanee (Princeton), Victory Levy (UNC Wilmington), Zoe Duval (Appalachian State), Caroline Patterson (UNC Asheville), and Seidl.
Seidl became the Big Sky Conference's individual qualifier by taking home medalist honors at the Big Sky Championship on April 20-22. She finished 5-under 208 (68-73-67) on the par-71 Wigwam Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz., and defeated Northern Arizona's Lizzie Neale in a one-hole playoff to claim the individual crown. Montana State finished third as a team at the tournament with a 54-hole score 15-over 867, earning its third top-three conference finish in the last four seasons.
Montana State is making its second-ever regional appearance this week as Seidl follows in teammate Maddie Montoya's footsteps in competing at the NCAA Regionals. Montoya won the Big Sky individual title in 2025 and went on to compete at the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional in Arizona, where she tied for 48th overall at 14-over 230 (82-77-71) among an elite field of competitors. Seidl and Montoya are among just four Bobcats ever to earn Big Sky titles and are the first two Cats in program history to compete at the NCAA Regionals.
Seidl is paired with Appalachian State's Duval and UNC Asheville's Patterson for Monday's first round and will tee off from hole 10 at 7:50 a.m. MT. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
