BOZEMAN, Mont. --- The Montana State track & field team heads back to California for the second time this month to compete in four meets beginning on Thursday and continuing through Saturday.
The Cats will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational on the campus of Azusa Pacific University form April 16-18, while also sending competitors to Long Beach State University for the Pacific Coast Invitational on April 16 and the Beach Invite on April 17-18. The meet weekend will conclude with a handful of Bobcats competing at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 18. The weekend marks the final time the Bobcats will split up this season while also serving as the penultimate road trip for Montana State during the regular season.

The Cats' first running event will take place at 12:15 p.m., with a combination of Peyton Garrison, Caroline Hawkes, Brooke Reuter, Jaeden Wolff, and Jadyn VanDyken set to compete in the 4x100-meter relay.

"The competitions over Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week are the highlight of the regular season for our student-athletes," Dale Kennedy Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lyle Weese said. "It is an action-packed weekend, as the team is competing in four separate meets across three days. The jumpers, sprinters, and throwers will compete at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday at Long Beach State University. Additionally, these same event groups will compete on Friday and Saturday at the Beach Invite, which is also at Long Beach State. Some members of the sprint event group will also compete on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays. The distance athletes will be competing at the Bryan Clay Invite, hosted by Azusa Pacific University.
"The coordination of competing across so many meets is challenging, but it is worth getting student-athletes in multiple competitions against elite competition. It is a great opportunity to put up big marks. It often is a payoff for our student-athletes for all the hard work put in over many months in the form of multiple personal records. We are, of course, shooting for as many West Region of NCAA qualifying marks as possible."
