Gelashvili and Bean combined to capture the Doubles C bracket with a 6-4 decision over CSU’s Stella Morgan and Leyla Tozin and a 6-1 win over Utah State’s Olivia Halvorsen and Magdalena Nunez Pureco.

Montana State veterans Nia Gelashvili and Angel Bean each recorded three victories at the Jon Messick Invitational, hosted by Colorado State last weekend. In all, the Bobcats netted ten victories in singles and doubles action.

Gelashvili and Bean combined to capture the Doubles C bracket with a 6-4 decision over CSU's Stella Morgan and Leyla Tozin and a 6-1 win over Utah State's Olivia Halvorsen and Magdalena Nunez Pureco.

"The weekend was a great opportunity to see this team compete, and I am very proud of the fight that they showed," said first-year head coach Hailey Barrett. "I want to congratulate our two freshmen, Terezie (Stverakova) and Lola (Bean), who earned their first wins as Bobcats. We can build on these results, and we will continue to work hard and improve from here."

MSU plays in the Boise State Invitational Sept. 26-28 in Boise, Idaho.
