Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Wraps up Fall With Strong Showing at Colorado Cup

MSU wrapped up winning records in singles, doubles
BOZEMAN, Mont. (Nov. 3, 2025) – Montana State closed its fall men's tennis season on a positive note last weekend, as the Bobcats compiled winning records in both singles and doubles competition at the Colorado Cup hosted by the University of Denver.
Junior Andre Stewart and sophomores Camille Chantron and Oumar Diallo each won all three of their singles matches and Andre Stewart finished 2-1. Eddie Biss teamed with Chantron to win two of three doubles matches, while Diallo and Stewart also finished 2-1 in doubles action.
"I am extremely proud of how Cami, Eddie, Andre, and Oumar competed this weekend," said MSU head coach Mateus Ceolin. "This was the last tournament of our fall, and the guys were able to finish it in great fashion. This certainly gives us a lot of confidence that we are doing the right work and moving in the right direction."
The four Bobcats competed against a strong regional field at the University of Denver's tournament. Ceolin said he was impressed with his team's consistent play.
"I am impressed by Camille and Oumar," Ceolin said. "They both went 3-0 in singles for the weekend against some really strong players from Denver, Grand Canyon, and Gonzaga. It was awesome to watch them battle every single day of the Colorado Cup and deliver great back-to-back performances. It is not easy to play well one day, and they both did it for three days in a row."
Stewart enters 2025-26 as a junior, the most experience member of the Bobcat squad. Ceolin lauded his improvement on the court and growth as a leader. "It was also awesome to see how much Andre has grown. He has put in a lot of work over the past year and has faced numerous challenges. The last few events that he's played, he has been able to put out consistent performances. I am extremely happy for him and for the direction that he is taking his tennis."
With four newcomers and one returning redshirt, Ceolin said he anticipated this fall would be one of ups and downs in doubles play. While that has largely played out, he said the squad is heading in the right direction in that area.
"Both doubles teams were awesome – Eddie and Cami, Andre and Oumar," Ceolin said. "Eddie showed why he is one of the best doubles players on our team. He has been able to get wins with multiple different partners this fall, and that shows me how much knowledge and understanding he has of the doubles game. He and Cami picked up some great wins this weekend by doing the simple things well, time and time again. Andre and Oumar also had a successful weekend in doubles and battled Sunday for 65 minutes to get the win over Denver."
Montana State's fall season consisted of tournament play in throughout the Rocky Mountain region and Northwest. Ceolin said that section of the season through several challenges at his young team, and he was played with the response.
"What I am most happy about this weekend is how well the guys took care of the controllables," he said. "This has been something that we have been talking about this fall. Becoming a good player starts by acting like one and taking care of the simple things. I feel like we have improved a lot in this area, and it has been fun to see some of the work paying off."
