MSU heads to Worley, Idaho, for 54-hole tournament held at Circling Raven Golf Club
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Montana State golf continues its furious fall rush this weekend, traveling to Worley, Idaho, for the Eagle Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington.
The two-day tournament begins with a pair of 18-hole rounds on Sunday, closing with a third and final round on Monday morning from Circling Raven Golf Club.
Shotgun starts both day will begin at 9 a.m. PT/10 a.m. MT. Live scoring will be carried here.
The Bobcats are entering their second tournament in what will be a stretch of four competitions in five weeks.
Head coach Brittany Basye has announced the lineup will include Scarlet Weidig, Hannah Boraas, Maddie Montoya, Lauren Greeny, and Eva Heinz. Jordan Briggs and Belle Brezovski will compete as individuals.
"Circling Raven is an amazing golf course and I am excited to see how they compete on this course," Basye said. "We will tee it up Sunday and compete the best we can--it's exciting to have the opportunity to play at this course."
The Bobcats got their 2024-2025 season underway last weekend in Utah, placing seventh out of 11 teams at the Kelsey Chugg Invitational hosted by Weber State.
The tournament's third round, scheduled for Tuesday, was canceled after weather conditions overnight made the course unplayable.
Following that sudden ending, Montana State is looking for a bounce-back performance after feeling like they left some shots on the table in Utah.
Scarlet Weidig finished in a tie for tenth after the 36 holes, shooting 152 (76-76) to pace the Cats.
Maddie Montoya and Hannah Boraas tied for 35th, finishing 14-over par. Lauren Greeny tied for 39th, shooting 16-over par.
"I'm glad we have a tournament right away after the Kelsey Chugg as we need to get back competing right away," Basye said. "We didn't get to play our third round, which all the ladies were anxious to get back out to shoot a number they know they can."
The Eagle Invitational this weekend in Idaho pits Montana State against several Big Sky rivals, including Montana, Weber State, Idaho, Idaho State, Portland State, and Eastern Washington.
Other participating teams include UC Riverside, Cal State Northridge, Gonzaga, Cal State Bakersfield, Seattle U, and North Dakota State.
