Bobcats Capture Men's Tennis Road Win Against Idaho

Andras Necz clinches match with win at No. 3 singles
Andras Necz captured a back-and-forth win at No. 3 singles to clinch Montana State's x-x Big Sky Conference men's tennis win against Idaho in Lewiston, Idaho, on Wednesday.
Necz's 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win, coupled with singles wins by Dario Ciobotaru at No. 2 and Max Relic on court one and the Bobcats capturing the doubles point, handed MSU an important win that raised the team's record to 3-2 in Big Sky play. Ciobotaru opened singles play with a 7-5, 6-2 win, then Relic earned his 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory to set up Necz's heroics. Kanika Jayathilake also earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
The evening opened with MSU capturing the doubles point for the first time in five matches. Jayathilake and Ciobotaru took a 6-1 decision at No. 2 doubles, then Relic and Rayen Hermassi won 6-1 on court one to clinch the doubles point.
Montana State returns to the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center on Sunday for a 1 pm showdown with Weber State. The Bobcats enter weekend play with a 3-2 record, while WSU is 3-1 before a Saturday match in Missoula.
